I can’t say enough good stuff about Steve Terjung, with AKME Waterproofing.  Steve inspected and gave us an estimate on reinforcing/replacing structural supports within and waterproofing the crawlspace of a home we were under contract to purchase.  His inspection was very thorough.  The crawl space was challenging because it was under the entire house and the foundation walls were different depths under different sections of the house.
Steve recommended a French drain system with two exit points for the water.  We were interested in a passive drain solution rather than having to rely on sump pumps and Steve was able to figure out how to incorporate this in the solution.  He proposed a 15ml Bilar membrane vapor barrier.  The installation specifics that Steve described were detailed and impressive, from the French drain construction to the methods of attachment of the vapor barrier (e.g.  not around the lower portion of the steel supports where the barrier would trap moisture and promote rusting and deterioration but on the concrete pads on which the supports sit.)
When I reached out with a follow-up question on a Saturday, Steve took my call and spent time sharing his thoughts on how the crawlspace waterproofing would impact the homes insulation requirements.  Throughout our interaction, Steve has been consistently responsive and a genuine pleasure to work with.
Unfortunately, the home sale fell through so we didn’t move forward with the work.  But I would not hesitate to use AKME Waterproofing on any home I owned.

I can’t say enough good things about Akme.  Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and professional.  Steve runs a customer-focused business, and it really shows.  I was undecided about doing waterproofing, and he never added pressure to the situation. He always presents the facts and shares his knowledge and expertise.  I did a lot of homework by receiving quotes from numerous waterproofing companies and qualifying the all of the candidates through reviews, past customers, and other professionals who have worked with Akme and the competition. Steve Terjung’s AKME Waterproofing was referred to me by an Atlanta-area radon mitigation company.  When meeting with Steve at the project site, I was impressed with his logical and conservative plans for ending water intrusion into the finished basement of my daughter’s newly bought “fixer upper”; none of the “over-the-top, sky is falling” proposals by other waterproofing companies.

Steve’s crew showed up promptly and worked efficiently (and neatly!) completing a professional installation of an interior crawlspace perimeter drain and sump well and pump in less than two days.

I highly recommend working with Steve and AKME Waterproofing.  I got quotes from several firms, but Steve's solution made the most sense for my garage flooding issue.  The property is a rental, so Steve had to do the extra work of coordinating schedules with the tenant and communicating his progress back to me. Nothing but absolute professionalism! He also walked me through the steps I needed to check for possible foundation issues and he was prepared with a solution for that work as well.  Luckily, we didn't need to go that route, and Steve's only concern was about doing what was needed, not selling me on extra work. My water problem began last March 2022. I contacted AKME to solve the problem. After many attempts to pinpoint the issue, and after they had made several trips to the house, and after performing leak repairs inside the basement, it was determined through the process of elimination that the main water/sewer line had been compromised and severely compressed over the years from settling thus cracking and allowing the water to seep into the interior basement wall. After excavation, the main line was replaced as was the main water line, then properly sealed, both outside and inside. It was a long and difficult process but through it all. Steve (and his associate "Bear") was always in constant contact with me getting updates and suggestions with me sending pictures and videos of the leak. It did not matter what time of the day or night, I could always text or call and Steve would always respond...quite unusual but truly appreciated customer service. And, he was extremely fair in his pricing. I highly recommend AKME Waterproofing in the event you should have the misfortune of a basement leak. Steve and his team are fantastic! I would highly recommend using AKME waterproofing. We were extremely pleased with how the final product looked. The overall quality of work was impressive, not to mention how easy it was to work with him. He was easy to communicate with and completed the work in a very reasonable time frame. First off, dealing with Steve Terjung is a joy. He is precise, he is attention to detail and thorough. His process includes the waterproofing guarantee that really works. His foreman is punctual and the workers are kind and considerate. At the end of the job, it was all cleaned up and inspected. I must say, I was skeptical at first but after seeing the extent to which Steve goes to waterproof and direct the water outside, it is incredible. My house is 90 years old and the basement leaked for 90 years, it is now dry and hopefully with the addition of the pump and battery (extra) it will stay like this.
